Saturday, Jan. 18

U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley will be at a meet-and-greet from 3 to 3:30 p.m. followed by a town hall meeting from 3:30 to 5 at the American Legion Hall, 421 11th St., Port Orford.

Bicoastal Media Radio will be distributing coats for children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Five Building, 494 Pacific Ave., Crescent City. Anyone who needs a new or gently used coat is welcome as long as supplies last.

Curry CoastWatch will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of CoastWatch from noon to 1 p.m. followed by a Beached Marine Critters Workshop led by Danielle Asson from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. Light refreshments will be served.

Curry CoastWatch presents Creatures from Japan via Tsunami Docks, Floats and Boats, a talk by Ralph Breitenstein, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Gold Beach City Hall council chambers, 29592 Ellensburg Ave. Light refreshments will be served.

The Brookings-Harbor Tea Party will present a talk on the National Defense Authorization Act at 2 p.m. in the Best Western Beachfront Inn conference room, 16008 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. Speakers include Tom McKirgan, Shane Ozbun and Rob Taylor.

Southern Oregon Dress a Girl Around the World meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Living Waters Foursquare Church, 1136 Fifield St., Brookings. Curry CoastWatch will host events at the American Legion Hall, 365 Sixth St., Port Orford. A Beached Marine Critters Workshop will be led by Danielle Asson from 1:30 to 3 p.m.; a celebration of 20 years of CoastWatch will be from 3 to 3:45; and Tidepool Organisms, King Tide Project and Opportunities Galore will be presented by Fawn Custer from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m.

Brookings-Harbor Garden Club will meet at its new location at Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. A social time begins at 11 a.m. followed by a business meeting at 11:30.
