Chetco Valley Historical Society will host an open house from noon to 4 p.m. at the Chetco Valley Museum, 15461 Museum Road, Harbor. The museum will be decorated. Coffee, hot cider and cookies will be served. Raffle tickets will be sold for a basket that includes an autographed copy of the book “Chetco” and a framed picture of the old Roosevelt Highway crossing the Chetco Valley. The drawing will be Sunday, Dec. 22, during the final open house.
Temple Beth Shalom meets at 10 a.m. for the sixth class discussing the 613 laws of Halacha at the temple, 956 J St., Crescent City.
Stout Mountain Railway presents “The Ornament Express” model train display from 1 to 7 p.m. next to Sears in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. The display will be running daily through Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Nature’s Coastal Holiday lights up the gardens of Azalea Park in Brookings from 5 to 9 p.m. daily through Tuesday, Dec. 24. Santa will be on hand from 6 to 8 p.m. through Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Del Norte High School softball will host a drive-thru Christmas show from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds, 421 Highway 101 N., Crescent City. The cost is $5 per car. No buses or motorhomes. There is a 10-foot height restriction. The show will also be from 6 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.
Portside RV Park and Portside Suites on Lower Harbor Road hosts a Christmas Lights Concert from 6 to 9 nightly.
Hughes House in Cape Blanco State Park, near Sixes, has been decorated for the holidays. An open house is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as well as the same hours on Sunday, Dec. 22, and Thursday, Dec. 26.

Whale Watching Week along the Oregon Coast is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily through Tuesday, Dec. 31, when volunteers will be at coastal headlands to help visitors spot the migrating California gray whales. Locations include Cape Ferrelo north of Brookings, Harris Beach State Park in Brookings, Brother Jonathan Point in Crescent City, and Battle Rock Wayside in Port Orford.
