Chetco Valley Historical Society will host an open house from noon to 4 p.m. at the Chetco Valley Museum, 15461 Museum Road, Harbor. The museum will be decorated. Coffee, hot cider and cookies wil be served. Raffle tickets will be sold for a basket that includes an autographed copy of the book “Chetco” and a picture of the old Roosevelt Highway crossing the Chetco Valley. The drawing will be Sunday, Dec. 22. Open houses are also scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday Dec. 15, as well as the following weekend.
The Brookings-Harbor Progressives’ Second Saturday Brunch will be a no-host gathering at 10:45 a.m. at The Onion Grill Restaurant, 835 Chetco Ave., Brookings. This is a new time and venue. Newcomers are welcome. For more information, call 541-469-1970.
Pennies for Pooches is offering pet photos with Santa from noon to 3 p.m. at Woof’s Bakery in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center, Harbor. The cost is $10 for an 8x10 portrait. Proceeds benefit the Curry County Animal Shelter. All dogs should be on leashes and cats in carriers.

Hughes House in Cape Blanco State Park has been decorated to the theme “Angels” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Though not decorated, the nearby Cape Blanco Lighthouse will also be open. Cape Blanco State Park is 5 miles from Highway 101 at the end of Cape Blanco Road in Sixes. The open house will also be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, as well as the following weekend and Christmas day.
The second annual Community Christmas Tree lighting will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the corner of Chetco and Hillside avenues in Brookings. Santa will be available for photos. Cookies and hot drinks will be served. This event was postponed from Sunday.
Calvin E. Murphy Detachment 578 Marine Corps League will have a Christmas party from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Emerald Coast Estates community building, 98126 West Benham Lane, Harbor. Stout Mountain Railway presents “The Ornament Express” model train display from 1 to 7 p.m. next to Sears in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. The display will be running daily through Tuesday, Dec. 24.
Nature’s Coastal Holiday lights up the gardens of Azalea Park in Brookings from 5 to 9 p.m. daily through Tuesday, Dec. 24. Santa will be on hand from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday through Tuesday, Dec. 21-24.
