Friday, Aug. 9

Pursuit of Glory, a free Christian conference, will begin at 4 p.m. at Brookings-Harbor High School, 625 Pioneer Road, Brookings. The conference will continue starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, with the last session beginning at 6 p.m.

The third annual Pirates of the Pacific Festival will be from noon to 9 p.m. at the Port of Brookings Harbor kite field on Boat Basin Road. Admission is $5 for general and $1 for children. The festival continues from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11.

The third annual Barbecue Albacore Bash to benefit the St. Timothy’s Outreach Clinic will be served up from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Brookings Presbyterian Church, 540 Pacific Ave. Presale tickets are $10 for adults, $12 at the door. Tuesday, Aug. 13

A public forum on bullying will be at 6 p.m. at the Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. Graduates, homeschoolers, current students, parents and concerned citizens will be invited to speak. Information on the impact of bullying and what can be done will be provided.

Vietnam Veterans of America will meet at 6 p.m. at the Brookings Elks Lodge lower level, 800 Elk Drive, Brookings. A potluck dinner follows the meeting.

CC’s Cancer Resource Center offers free counseling and resource options daily to women addressing cancer issues. The resource center is inside CC’s Upscale Resale Clothing Store in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center in Harbor. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
