Easter Events

Wednesday, April 16

Friends of the Library hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. at the Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. The event is for children 6 and younger. More than 1,000 plastic eggs filled with goodies will be hidden in the children’s area inside the library. There will be a special area roped off for babies. Bring a basket. Early arrival is recommended.

Saturday, April 19

Stout Mountain Railway presents Eggspress No. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Stout Mountain Railway Garden in Stout Park on Oak Street.

Curry County Master Gardeners Association will host an Easter egg hunt from 10 a.m. to noon at the Little Bear Patch garden at Kalmiopsis Elementary School, 650 Easy St., Brookings. The hunt is for children 11 and younger.

Brookings Elks and Emblem clubs sponsors and Easter egg hunt at 9 a.m. at Azalea Park in Brookings. Participants are urged to arrive on time. In the event of rain, the hunt will be at the Elks Lodge, 800 Elk Drive, Brookings.

Sunday, April 20

Brookings Church of the Nazarene will hold a children’s Easter egg hunt from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church, 1600 Chetco Ave.

 

Wednesday, April 16

The Lifelong Learning Series presents “Sweet Spring Treats” at 1 p.m. in the Sea View Senior Living Community activity loft, 98059 Gerlach Lane, Harbor. Participants will create and sample treats. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 541-469-4500.

Movie Night at Langlois Public Library will present “Kaspar Hauser,” a movie about a 19th-century figure, at 6 p.m. at the library, 48234 Highway 101. The event is free.

Soroptimist International of Brookings meets at noon at Sebastian’s Seafood Grill, 16011 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. The Azalea princesses will be introduced and Brookings-Harbor High School’s vocal group Sea Breeze will perform.

Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet at 2 p.m. in the Chetco Activity Center dining room, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. The group is for anyone who cares for, or has a family member living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia. The facilitators are Bharti Patel and Dana Maciel.
