Wednesday, Aug. 8

“Jane and Annie at Home” will be presented as part of the “Living History at Hughes House” series. Performances will begin at 11 a.m. with the last show at 3 p.m. and will take place depending on the number of visitors. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Hughes House is in Cape Blanco State Park north of Port Orford.

Gil Kirk performs vocals and piano from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sebastian’s Seafood Grill, 16011 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays and 7 to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. For information, call 541-412-7977.

Friday, Aug. 10

The North Coast Summer Band Camp will give a culminating public performance at 7 p.m. in the Crescent Elk School gymnasium, 994 G St., Crescent City.  More than 60 students are participating this year. The theme is “Colors,” and the program will include works such as “Yellow Submarine,” “Blue Tail Fly” and others that have a color as part of the title.  This concert is free to the public; for more information, call Amy Ross at 707-465-3732.

Ellensburg Theater Company presents “Willy Wonka” at 7:30 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. Performances will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday, Aug. 11

The Blackberry Bushes String Band will perform during a Pistol River Concert Association concert at 8 p.m. at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road. The sixth annual Coastal Garden and Art Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at locations throughout the Brookings-Harbor area. Tickets, with a map of the locations, are $10 and may be purchased in Brookings, Gold Beach and Crescent City. A tri-tip barbecue will take place from 11 a.m. until sold out at Kalmiopsis Elementary School, 650 Easy St., Brookings. The 98th Second Saturday Art Walk will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at venues along Oak Street, Art Walk Alley, Chetco Avenue and Chetco Lane in Brookings.

A Day of Drums workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pine Grove School, 900 Pine Grove Road, Crescent City. The cost of the workshop is $15. The American Music Festival presents Golden Bough performing Celtic music from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Azalea Park band shell. Admission is free.

Thursday, Aug. 16

Ian McFeron performs a Stagelights House Concert Series outdoor concert at 6:30 p.m. Salmon Run golf course, 99040 South Bank Chetco River Road, Harbor. He will be accompanied by Alisa Miner, Norman Baker and Mark Bateman.  Tickets are $15.

Saturday, Aug. 18

Dusanka Kralj will teach an art workshop on texturing and layering abstract paintings from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch break, at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies, 810 Chetco Ave., Brookings. The cost of the workshop is $80 plus supplies. For more information, call 541-469-7900.
