Wednesday, Aug. 15 An outdoor concert and potluck

picnic will be from 3 to 8 p.m. at Buffington Park in Port Orford. Per- formers include Sparrow’s Gate, Mike Disbrow and Shine On, Blues Crusta- ceans, Heather Carpenter, and Kirk Schumacher. The concert is free, but donations will benefit the new Port Orford Community Co-op, which will provide food and other products with an emphasis on locally-produced items. In case of rain, the event will be moved to the Community Build- ing.

Chetco Pelican Players will hold auditions for the suspense thriller “Wait Until Dark” at 6:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Auditions are also sched- uled for 6:30 p.m. For information, call Howard Patterson at 707-464- 1063 or Karen de Lucca at 541-661- 0616.

Brookings Harbor Community Theater presents “The Little Mer- maid” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Harbor Performing Arts Center in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center.
