Wednesday, Aug. 1

Karaoke is offered at 9:30 p.m. at 101 Bar and Grill, 98141 W. Benham Lane, Harbor; and at 9 p.m. at Turf Club, 900 Front St., Crescent City.

An Open Mic Jam Session is offered at 7 p.m. at Shooters Billiards Bar, 1091 Highway 101 N. Crescent City.

The Dragon Theater Puppets, promoting the Oregon College Savings Plan, performs at 2 p.m. at the Port Orford Public Library, 1421 Oregon St.

Jerry Moffit performs on keyboard from 6 to 9 p.m. at Nautical Inn, 16850 Highway 101, Smith River.

Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Old Time Music Jam will not take place this week.

Karaoke is offered at 9 p.m. at Sea West Restaurant, 6655 Lake Earl Drive, Fort Dick; and 9 p.m. at Ship Ashore Resort, 12370 Highway 101, Smith River.

Saturday, Aug. 4

The Celebration of the Arts will be held in conjunction with the Farmers and Artisans Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Port of Brookings-Harbor boardwalk. Produce, berries, breads, sweets, flowers, plants, garden items, arts and crafts will be available. The event will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5. Hootenanny Singalong meets from noon to 2 p.m. at the Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. All ages, instruments and voices are welcome. The event is free. For information, call 541-469-6787.

Worship Warz church worship band competition will be at noon at the Azalea Park bandshell. The event will include a barbecue lunch. Admission is $2 with proceeds going to the winning band’s charity of choice.

Sunday, Aug. 5

Evolution, the Oregon Coast Lab Band’s jazz ensemble, will perform an outdoor concert at 1 p.m. at Port Orford Heads State Park. The public is welcome to bring a picnic lunch, a blanket or lawn chair for seating.

Wednesday, Aug. 8

“Jane and Annie at Home” will be presented as part of the “Living History at Hughes House” series. Performances will begin at 11 a.m. with the last show at 3 p.m. and will take place depending on the number of visitors. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Hughes House is in Cape Blanco State Park north of Port Orford.

Friday, Aug. 10

Ellensburg Theater Company presents “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” at 7:30 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. Performances will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. Saturday, Aug. 11

The Blackberry Bushes String Band will perform during a Pistol River Concert Association concert at 8 p.m. at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road. The sixth annual Coastal Garden and Art Tour will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at locations throughout the Brookings-Harbor area. Tickets, with a map of the locations, are $10 and may be purchased in Brookings, Gold Beach and Crescent City. A tri-tip barbecue will take place from 11 a.m. until sold out at Kalmiopsis Elementary School, 650 Easy St., Brookings. The 98th Second Saturday Art Walk will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at venues along Oak Street, Art Walk Alley, Chetco Avenue and Chetco Lane in Brookings.

The American Music Festival presents Golden Bough performing Celtic music from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Azalea Park band shell. Admission is free.
