Wednesday, April 18

•Chetco Pelican Players will hold auditions for “Arsenic and Old Lace” at 6:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. For information, call Director Jason Liddell at 928-208-0684, or visit Actors at Chetco Pelican Players on Facebook.

•Karaoke is offered at 8 p.m. at MoVino Wine Bar, 625 Chetco Ave., Brookings.; at 9:30 p.m. at 101 Bar and Grill, 98141 W. Benham Lane, Harbor; and at 9 p.m. at Turf Club, 900 Front St., Crescent City.

•An Open Mic Jam Session  is offered at 7 p.m. at Shooters Billiards Bar, 1091 Highway 101 N. Crescent City.

Thursday, April 19

•Lucky 7 Casino presents "Comedy Night" at  8 p.m. April 19 in the Club 7 Sports Bar, 350 N. Indian Road, Smith River. The headliner will be Gabriel Rutledge, a past winner of the Seattle International Comedy Competition. The evening also features comedian Justin Haynes. Attendees must be 21 or older, and there is no cover charge.

•Brookings-Harbor Community Theater presents a benefit performance of Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” at 6 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. The show benefits Brookings-Harbor Education Foundation. Hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Roger Gilbert will be served. Tickets are $20 and are available from foundation board members Patrick Chew, Ann Volz, Alisa Green, Patty McVay, Kathleen Spratt and Nancy Chew.

Friday, April 20

•A Student Art Show reception will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Gallery of Fine Arts and Culture, 175 H St., Crescent City. The show will feature art in various media from students in preschool through high school. Guest speaker Garretta Lamore will give a presentation at 6 p.m. For more information, call 707-464-4745.

•Brookings-Harbor Community Theater presents Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” at 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. Final performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $9 for seniors and $7 for students. •The Chetco Pelican Players presents “Annie Get Your Gun” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Additional shows will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 20, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, as well as the following weekend. •Jerry Moffit performs on keyboard from 6 to 9 p.m. at Nautical Inn, 16850 Highway 101, Smith River.

•Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

•Old Time Music Jam will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at  Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. Musicians of all ages are welcome. For information, call 541-469-6787.

Saturday, April 21

•Stagelights Musical Arts Community will have an open mic from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Stagelights Clubhouse, 16333 Lower Harbor Road, Harbor. The event is free, but donations will be accepted to cover building rental costs.  Hot chocolate, soda and water will be available for purchase; popcorn is free. 

Saturday, April 21

•Resonance, a new a cappella chamber choir in Brookings, will present a free concert at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 770 Elk Drive, Brookings. The group offers a variety of musical styles, including Renaissance madrigals, love songs, show tunes, and more modern sacred music, with occasional vocal solos and instrumental interludes. Refreshments will be served after the performance.  

Thursday, April 26

•Del Norte-Curry Community Concert Association presents the Chris Jácome Flamenco Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 in Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G St., Crescent City. Admission is free to all who hold season memberships, and to those new members who purchase a membership to next year's season before or on the concert date. •The Curry-Del Norte Orchestra will present its spring concert at 8 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 94190 Fifth St., Gold Beach. Concerts will also be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Elk Valley Rancheria, 2332 Howland Hill Road, Crescent City, and at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1200 Easy St., Brookings.
