•Brookings Harbor Community Theater announces auditions for “The Woman in Black” will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center in the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center. Auditions will also be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5. Director Stephanie La Torre will be looking for two men and one woman between the ages of 25 and 60. •A meet and greet featuring local writers Wendy Bertrand and Ken Letko will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jefferson State Books, 299 I St., Crescent City. The brief reading and book signing is a preview for the North Coast Redwood Writers’ Conference scheduled for Sept. 21 and 22 at College of the Redwoods, Del Norte. •The fifth annual Gold Beach Brew and Art Fest will be from noon to 10 p.m. at the Event Center on the Beach, 29392 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
