Artistic License will be from 5 to 6 p.m. at Brian Scott Gallery, 515 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Sara Broderick will discuss “Painting with Ink and Varnish”; Georgia Cockerham, writer and illustrator of a children’s book, will give a presentation; Fred Schacher, “The Music Man,” will share his techniques for making a violin; and story time will be shared by Angela Ewing.
Chetco Pelican Players presents the Mel Brooks musical “Young Frankenstein” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Shows will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, as well as the following two weekends. The theater will perform “The Maltese Falcon,” a Sam Spade mystery, and “The Incredible Annalee,” a comedy.
