A Black Tie and Tennis Shoe Reception at 5 p.m. at the Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., Brookings, will kick of the Pelican Bay Arts Association’s annual Studio Art Tour. The tour of five locations will have 12 artists participating from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.
The 13th annual North Coast Redwoods Writers’ Conference will begin 6 p.m. at the College of the Redwoods, Del Norte campus, 883 W. Washington Blvd., Crescent City. The panel and readings on Friday evening are free to the public. The conference will continue all day Saturday, Sept. 21. Pistol River Contra Dance will be from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road, Pistol River. A potluck and a quick lesson will precede the dancing.
