Saturday, May 18

America’s Wild Rivers Coast Wine, Art and Music Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Event Center on the Beach, 29392 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Admission is $10. The event will also be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19.

Eugene biologist Tom Titus will discuss and sign copies of his new book, “Blackberries in July: A Forager’s Field Guide to Inner Peace,” at 1 p.m. at Gold Beach Books, 29707 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Seating for the free event is limited, so patrons are advised to arrive early.  Those unable to attend may pre-order signed copies by calling the bookstore at 541-247-2495.

Giraffes on a Raft will be performing at 2 p.m. at the Curry Public Library, 94341 Third St., Gold Beach.

Brookings Harbor Community Theater presents “Beauty and the Beast” 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Performances will also be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19, as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7 for students and children. Tickets maybe purchased at Wright’s Custom Framing and Arts Supplies in Brookings, New Wave Video in Harbor and at the door. For information and reservations, call 541-469-4700.

Jurassic Country performs from 6 to 9 p.m. at Ship Ashore Resort, 12370 Highway 101, Smith River.

Sunday, May 19

Friends of Music presents Eugene Brancoeanu and Marie Plette in concert at 3 p.m. at Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave. Tickets are $20 for general and free for students and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, The Book Dock in Harbor and at the door.

Monday, May 20

“Creative Mondays” take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. Attendees may come for only part of the day if wished; a 3 p.m. critique is encouraged. This is not limited to painters, but for any artwork a person wants to work on. Sequoyah Oregon will perform at 7 p.m. at Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings.

Lost Woods will perform at 7 p.m. at Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings.

Aaron Reed will peform at  7 p.m. at Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings.


Singing telegrams by Georgia Blank, who specializes in old hymns, are being offered to lift spirits at no charge. To schedule a singing telegram, call 541-469-5625.
