Thursday, March 14

Pelican Bay Arts Association meets at 11 a.m. for its general meeting followed by a potluck at noon at the Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., Brookings. At 12:30 p.m., Dawn Phillips of the Chetco Photographers Association will show how to use a point and shoot camera. Those attending are welcome to bring their own cameras for pointers. Friday, March 15

Live music by Pistol River Contraband and displays by local artists will take place during the grand opening of Mangia Buff Italian buffet, ale and wine garden in the GoldRush Center, 29692 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Tickets are $10 per person.

Lighthouse Repertory Theatre presents the musical comedy “9 to 5” at 7:30 p.m. at Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G St., Crescent City. Final performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, and 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at Del Norte Office Supply and at the door.

Jerry Moffit performs on keyboard from 6 to 9 p.m. at Nautical Inn, 16850 Highway 101, Smith River.

Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Old Time Music Jam will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at  Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. Musicians of all ages are welcome. For information, call 541-469-6822.

Ellensburg Theater Company presents its second annual Golda Awards at 6:30 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. The event is free for all members of the theater company. For information about membership and to reserve a seat, call 541-247-4ETC (4382).

Tuesday, March 19

Brookings Harbor Community Theater is holding auditions for Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”  at 6:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Speaking and singing  parts are available for people 16 and older and chorus parts are available for children 6 and older. A triple-bill concert to benefit the Chetco Pelican Players will be at 7 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Performers include Toni Land with Dale Morgan, Robert Richter and Timbre (Kim Banfield and Michael Quale). Admission is $12 and includes a Toni Land compact disc. A slide-guitar workshop will precede the concert at 2 p.m. The cost for the workshop is $10 and advanced registration is required. Those planning to attend both the workshop and concert receive a $5 discount.
