Wednesday, June 19

Chetco Pelican Players is offering a Summer Youth Acting Camp. Signups will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Chetco Pelican Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. The summer program will consist of 16 sessions. The program will culminate in a family production of “The Wizard of Oz” on Aug. 15. Chetco Pelican Players is holding auditions for “Wizard of Oz “at 6:30 p.m. at the Chetco Pelican Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. This production, is for people 24 and younger with a few parts for older people. Performances will be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Aug. 16-25. Gil Kirk performs vocals and piano from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sebastian’s Seafood Grill, 16011 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. For information, call 541-412-7977.

A Contra Dance workshop will be at 5 p.m. in the Curry Public Library parking lot, 94341 Third St., Gold Beach. No experience necessary. All are welcome.

Burning Guitars will perform at 7 p.m. at The Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings.

The Chetco Pelican Players presents “Harvey” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Shows will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, as well as the following weekend. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for students and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies and Chetco Pharmacy and Gifts in Brookings, New Wave Video in Harbor and at the door. Jerry Moffit performs on keyboard from 6 to 9 p.m. at Nautical Inn, 16850 Highway 101, Smith River.

Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Old Time Music Jam will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at  Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. Musicians of all ages are welcome. For information, call 541-469-6822.

Adam Miller, folksinger and storyteller, will perform a free family concert at 2 p.m. at Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder St., Brookings. The concert is sponsored by Friends of the Library. For more information, call 541-469-7738.

The Shifty Sailors from Whidbey Island, Wash., presents a benefit concert for the St. George Reef Lighthouse at 7:30 p.m. at the Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G St., Crescent City.

John Hewitt will be giving a watercolor lesson at the Fourth Thursday Art Demonstration at noon at Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. A finger-food luncheon will be at 11:30 prior to the workshop. All are welcome. For more information, call 707-464-9133.

Saturday, June 29

The third-annual Driftwood Art and Fun Frenetic Sculpture Contest will be in front of Fely’s Restaurant at Sporthaven Beach at the Port of Brookings Harbor. Contestants will create sculptures from driftwood and debris picked up off the beach. Art Exhibits

Wright’s Custom Frame Shop, 810 Chetco Ave., Brookings: Len Burton shows paintings of lighthouses along the Pacific Coast in the small gallery. The show will hang through June and July. Also showing are the works of several artists throughout the store. For information, call 541-469-7900.
