Wednesday, Jan. 8

Ellensburg Theater Company hosts a pizza fundraiser from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Pizza, 29790 Ellensburg Ave., Gold Beach. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 and younger. Tickets are available at McKay’s Market starting at 2 p.m. and at the door.  

Gil Kirk performs vocals and piano from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sebastian’s Seafood Grill, 16011 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. For information, call 541-412-7977.

Thursday, Jan. 9

The Pelican Bay Arts Association general meeting will be at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck at noon and a social gathering at 12:30 p.m. Members will be electing a new board of directors and voting on a bylaws revision.  The meeting will be at Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., Brookings.

Friday, Jan. 10

Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday, Jan. 11

A celebration of life for artist Liz James will be during an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. at Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., Brookings.

Brian Scott Gallery will host a Second Saturday Art Event from 4 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, 515 Chetco Ave., Brookings. At 5 p.m. Thomas Sheets will talk, followed by a reading by Cecilia Johnson at 5:30. The evening will end at 6 p.m. with ragtime pieces performed by Christie Dolan. Refreshments will be served. The event is free.

The Pistol River Concert Association presents The Quiet Americans with bassist Ronnie Ontiveros in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road, Pistol River. Sunday, Jan. 12

Friends of Music will host its second annual Young Artists Concert and Scholarship Award at 3 p.m. at Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave. Three finalists will perform during this free concert.

Saturday, Jan. 18

Chetco Pelican Players present it Packy Awards to the best actors and shows of the 2013 season during a masquerade-theme gala. The event will be at 7 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Doors open at 6:15. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth younger than 18. Youth who participated in a show during the season are admitted free.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

Brookings Harbor Community Theater will have auditions for “The Enchanted April” at 6:30 p.m. at Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Director Lynette McPherson will be casting five women and three men ages 20 through 60. For more information, call 541-661-2321.
