Thursday, Jan. 23

Award-winning photographer Jon Parmentier will be the artist for the Fourth Thursday Art Demonstration at Crescent Harbor Art Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. A finger-food luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. followed by the demonstration at noon. All are welcome. For more information, call 707-464-9133.

Indie folk-rock duo You Knew Me When will perform at 7 p.m. at Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings. There is no cover charge. 

Friday, Jan. 24

Azalea Middle School Music Department hosts a luncheon and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the school cafeteria, 505 Pacific Ave., Brookings. The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch, a beverage and dessert. Tickets are available from music students, the school office or at the door.

Artist and musician Jon Parmentier will be holding a CD release celebration starting a 5 p.m. at The Gallery of Arts and Culture, 175 H St., Crescent City. His new album is titled “Music for Redwoods,” and selections from it will be performed by Parmentier on guitar beginning at 6 p.m. For more information, call 707-464-4745.

Brookings Harbor Community Theater presents the children’s musical “Pocahontas” at 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Final performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $7 for students and  $5 for children 5 and younger. Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday, Feb. 1

Oregon Old Time Fiddlers Association presents its first Winter Festival at the Chetco Grange Community Center, 97895 Shopping Center Ave., Harbor. A performance will be from noon to 2 p.m. with an open acoustic jam following until everyone is tired. Admission is free.


Singing telegrams by Georgia Blank, who specializes in old hymns, are being offered to lift spirits at no charge. To schedule a singing telegram, call 541-469-5625.
