Monday, April 8

“Creative Mondays” take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. Attendees may come for only part of the day if wished; a 3 p.m. critique is encouraged. This is not limited to painters, but for any artwork a person wants to work on. Thursday, April 11

Pelican Bay Arts Association will meet at Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., Brookings. The meeting will be at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck.  At 12:30  p.m., Frank (Gus) Gustafson will demonstrate oil painting.  Gustafson is artist of the month. The gallery theme for April is “Close Ups.”

Jazz with Jerry will perform at 7 p.m. at Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings.

Friday, April 12

Ellensburg Theater Company presents “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” at 7 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. Performances will also be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, as well as the following weekend. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students with an identification card. Chetco Pelican Players presents “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Shows will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14, as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $15 for adults and $6 for students and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies and Chetco Pharmacy and Gifts in Brookings, New Wave Video in Harbor and at the door. Saturday, April 13

The 106th Second Saturday Art Walk will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at venues along Chetco Avenue, Oak Street and Art Walk Alley. Special events, music and art will be highlighted.

Crescent Harbor Gallery will host its quarterly salad luncheon fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. For more information, call 707-464-9133.

Brookings Harbor Community Theater will hold auditions for the original musical “Summer Love,” by Brookings residents Gil Kirk and Karl Sandstrom, at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Director Shirley Hyatt is seeking four lead actors. Chetco Pelican Players will hold auditions for “Harvey” at 6:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. A special edition of the Crescent City Art Walk celebrates the city’s 159th birthday from 4 to 7 p.m. at venues in downtown and at the harbor.

Sequoyah Oregon will perform at 7 p.m. at Vista Pub, 1009 Chetco Ave., Brookings.

Art Exhibits

Brian Scott and Signatures, 515 Chetco Ave., Brookings:  Features Elio Camacho’s still life, and ocean and river view oil paintings.
