Friday, May 16

Brookings Harbor Community Theater presents “Cinderella’s Glass Slipper” at 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Shows will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students and children.  Tickets are available at New Wave Video in Harbor, Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, and at the door. “Showtune Me the Money” is an evening of Broadway karaoke where table teams can bid to have Lighthouse Repertory Theatre members perform their choices. A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and entertainment to begin at 6:30 at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 810 H St., Crescent City. Presale tickets are $35 and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings and Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City. Proceeds benefit the LRT building fund. Bandon Showcase presents Liana Forest, Concert Pianist and Her Swinging Symphonette, at 7:30 p.m. at Sprague Community Theater, 1202 11th St., Bandon. USA Dance, Coos Bay Chapter, is hosting a dance at the Chetco Grange Community Center, 97895 Shopping Center Ave., Harbor. A waltz lesson will be from 2:30 to 3:30, foxtrot lesson from 4 to 5 p.m. and an East Coast swing lesson will be from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Each lesson costs $5. An open ballroom dance will be from 7:45 to 9:30. Admission is $5.

The districtwide Del Norte Instrumental Night will be at 7 p.m. in the main gym at Del Norte High School, 1301 El Dorado St., Crescent City.  Fifth to 12th grade band students from around the county will participate. The Fourth Thursday art demonstration will be at noon, preceded by a potluck at 11:30 a.m. at Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. Elio Camacho will demonstrate how he creates a still life in oils. Jon Parmentier is the artist of the month. His pieces, along with works by other gallery members, are on display. Four Shillings Short will perform at 2 p.m. on the Langlois Public Library patio, 48234 Highway 101. The program is titled “A Celebration of Ireland — Music, Poetry and Stories from the Irish Tradition.” The duo will also be performing in June at locations in Gold Beach and Brookings-Harbor.
