The Pistol River Concert Association presents Smooth Hound Smith at 8 p.m. at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road.  Tickets are $15 each and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, Gold Beach Books in Gold Beach and the door.  A $5 student discount or refund is also available at the door.  For ticket reservations or more information, call 541-247-2848 or visit http://www.pistolriver.com.

The 116th Second Saturday Art Walk will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at nine venues within walking distance of Chetco Avenue and Oak Street in Brookings. The event includes art, presentations, music and food.

The Humane Society of Del Norte is holding a dance competition and silent auction at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 810 H St., Crescent City. A no-host bar with appetizers from Northwoods restaurant begins at 6 p.m. with the competition beginning at 7. Ellensburg Theater Company present “The Troubadours of Narnia,”a musical variety show, at 7 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available at Coffee Dock, Gold Beach Books and at the door.

Brookings Harbor Education Foundation is holding a VIP Dress Rehearsal Fundraiser at Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m. followed by a dress rehearsal of “Cinderella’s Glass Slipper” at 7. Brookings Harbor Community Theater presents “Cinderella’s Glass Slipper” at 7:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Shows will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students and children.  Tickets are available at New Wave Video in Harbor, Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, and at the door. “Showtune Me the Money” is an evening of Broadway karaoke where table teams can bid to have Lighthouse Repertory Theatre members perform their choices. A social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and entertainment to begin at 6:30 at the Veterans Memorial Hall, 810 H St., Crescent City. Presale tickets are $35 and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings and Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City. Proceeds benefit the LRT building fund. Bandon Showcase presents Liana Forest, Concert Pianist and Her Swinging Symphonette, at 7:30 p.m. at Sprague Community Theater, 1202 11th St., Bandon. USA Dance, Coos Bay Chapter, is hosting a dance at the Chetco Grange Community Center, 97895 Shopping Center Ave., Harbor. A waltz lesson will be from 2:30 to 3:30, foxtrot lesson from 4 to 5 p.m. and an East Coast swing lesson will be from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Each lesson costs $5. An open ballroom dance will be from 7:45 to 9:30. Admission is $5.

Friends of Music presents pianist Jeffery Brown in concert at 3 p.m. at Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave. Tickets are $20 and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City and at the door. Wednesday, May 21

The districtwide Del Norte Instrumental Night will be at 7 p.m. in the main gym at Del Norte High School, 1301 El Dorado St., Crescent City.  Fifth to 12th grade band students from around the county will participate. A donation will be requested at the door. Proceeds go to support scholarships for the North Coast Summer Band Camp in August.  For more information, call the high school music room at 707-464-0272.

Thursday, May 22

The Fourth Thursday art demonstration will be at noon, preceded by a potluck at 11:30 a.m. at Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City. Elio Camacho will demonstrate how he creates a still life in oils. Jon Parmentier is the artist of the month. His pieces, along with works by other gallery members, are on display.
