Saturday, June 7

The First Saturday Open Studio Art Class will be from 2:30 to 6 p.m. at Open Studio Arts, 7700 Bailey Road, Fort Dick. All are welcome. The class will be on collage. To register or for more information, call 541-469-0140.

A fundraiser variety show will be at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. The program includes singers, dancers, a ukulele player, a violinist, pianists and Soundwave choir from Azalea Middle School. Admission is a $5 donation. Proceeds help Shawntisha Bailey with travel expenses to the National Fine Arts Festival in Columbus, Ohio. For more information, call 541-251-0255. 

Hootenanny Singalong meets from noon to 2 p.m. at the Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. All ages, instruments and voices are welcome. The event is free. For information, call 541-469-6787.

Dance Art Studio presents its annual concert titled “Lights, Camera, Action!” at 7:30 p.m. at Crescent Elk Auditorium, 994 G St., Crescent City. The performance features ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics performed by about 120 students ages 3 and older.  An additional performance will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. The American Music Festival presents Tsunami Swing followed by the Curry/Del Norte Orchestra at 1 p.m. at the Azalea Park bandshell. Admission is free. Donations will be accepted.

Tuesday, June 10

Brookings Harbor Community Theater will have auditions for a set of one-act plays, “Cards, Cups and Crystal Ball” and “Faith, Hope and Cyanide” at 6:30 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Six women and one man, 50 and older, and one woman, 20s to 30s, are needed for the cast. Wednesday, June 11

Artist Mary Isaacson will be presenting an art demonstration at 1 p.m. during the Lifelong Learning Series at Sea View Senior Living Community, 98059 Gerlach Lane, Harbor. Isaacson will give a preview of her ongoing art class beginning at 1 p.m. Monday, June 16, in the Soda Shop at the care facility. For more information, call 541-469-4500.

Thursday, June 12

Pelican Bay Arts Association meets at Manley Art Center, 433 Oak St., Brookings. The general meeting begins at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck. At 12:30 p.m. there will be an oil painting demonstration by Ginny Cox.

Country classics will be performed by Rapp Brush from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harris Beach State Park campground program area near space C22.

Friday, June 13

Chetco Pelican Players presents the musical production “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Additional shows will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15,  as well as the following two weekends. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children and are available in Brookings at Wright’s Custom Framing and Arts Supplies, in Harbor at New Wave Video, and at the door. The 10th anniversary Second Saturday Art Walk will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at venues within walking distance of Chetco Avenue, Oak Street and Art Walk Alley.

Tea Photography presents an open house on behalf of The Shelter Project from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the South Coast Humane Society shelter, 828 Railroad St., Brookings. Handcrafted jewelry and photo greeting cards; framed prints; photo stickers, magnets and mugs will be available for sale. Proceeds benefit the shelter.

Chetco Pelican Players will hold auditions for “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” at 6:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Auditions will continue at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 18.

Friday, June 20

Brookings-Harbor Community Theater presents the junior production of “The Quest: A Fairy Tale With An Attitude” at 7 p.m. at the Harbor Performing Arts Center, 97900 Shopping Center Ave. Additional shows will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 21, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, as well as the following weekend. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and children, and free for children 3 and younger. Tickets are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, New Wave Video in Harbor and at the door. For more information, call 541-661--2473.
