Wednesday, Aug. 13

Thursday, Aug. 14

Pelican Bay Arts Association meets at the Manley Art Center. The general meeting will be at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch. At 12:30 p.m., Audi Stanton will do an interactive “stick and India ink” demonstration. For more information, call 541-469-1807. 

Curry Public Library hosts an international film series through mid-September. The 1997 Italian film “Life is Beautiful” will be shown at 6 p.m. People are welcome to bring their own snacks. Friday, Aug. 15

Lighthouse Repertory Theatre presents “November” at 7:30 p.m. at the Chetco Playhouse, 1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings. Performances will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17. The play will continue the following weekend in Crescent City. Tickets are $12 and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, Del Norte Office Supply in Crescent City and at the door.

Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday, Aug. 16

Arlene Krogstad is offering a watercolor workshop called “Plein Air Travel Sketches” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way, Crescent City.  For fees, materials needed, registration and more information, call  707-464-9133.

Lighthouse Repertory Theatre is having its annual membership meeting at noon at 4775 North Bank Road, Hiouchi.  A main dish for this “Luau” is provided, and those who are or wish to be LRT members should bring a side dish.  This is when the paid membership (those making a donation of $25 or more) votes on the rotation of three open seats each year on the board of directors.  For more information, call 707-465-3740.

Ellensburg Theater Company presents “The Secret Garden” at 7:30 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. Performances will also be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, as well as the following weekend. Saturday, Aug. 23

Stagelights Musical Arts Community presents the third annual “Day of Drums,” a four-hour percussion event for all ages and skill levels, at 10 a.m. at the Harris Beach Rest Area, 1650 Highway 101, Brookings.  The event fee is $10 per person. Space is limited to the first 60 people . The deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 15.
