Wednesday, April 30

The King’s Herald Quartet will present a free concert at 7 p.m. at Brookings Seventh-day Adventist Church, 102 Park Ave.

Gil Kirk performs vocals and piano from 6 to 9 p.m. at Sebastian’s Seafood Grill, 16011 Boat Basin Road, Harbor. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. For information, call 541-412-7977.

Friday, May 2

Gary Lowdon performs on saxophone from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Holleran’s Restaurant and Lounge, 1210 Chetco Ave., Brookings. He also performs from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday, May 3

Hootenanny Singalong meets from noon to 2 p.m. at the Chetco Activity Center, 550 Chetco Lane, Brookings. All ages, instruments and voices are welcome. The event is free. For information, call 541-469-6787.

Tuesday, May 6

The Pacific Music Guild presents the North Coast Chorale under the direction of Christie Lynn Rust and the Crescent City Children’s Choir under the direction of Greg Goode at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 319 E St., Crescent City.  A suggested donation is $5. Tickets are available at Del Norte Office Supply or the door. A performance will also be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7.

Thursday, May 8

Pelican Bay Arts Association will meet at Manley Art Center and Gallery, 433 Oak St., Brookings. A general meeting will be at 11 a.m. followed by a potluck at noon. At 12:30 p.m. model boat builder Art Larason will give a presentation. The gallery theme for May is “Historical Brookings.” The featured artists are members of the association’s Life Drawing Group. Friday, May 9

Ellensburg Theater Company present “The Troubadours of Narnia,”a musical variety show, at 7 p.m. at the Rogue Playhouse, 94196 Moore St., Gold Beach. An additional show will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets are available at Coffee Dock, Gold Beach Books and at the door.

The Pistol River Concert Association presents Smooth Hound Smith at 8 p.m. at the Pistol River Friendship Hall, 24252 Carpenterville Road.  Tickets are $15 each and are available at Wright’s Custom Framing and Art Supplies in Brookings, Gold Beach Books in Gold Beach and the door.  A $5 student discount or refund is also available at the door.  For ticket reservations or more information, call 541-247-2848 or visit http://www.pistolriver.com.

The 116th Second Saturday Art Walk will be from 3 to 6 p.m. at venues within walking distance of Chetco Avenue and Oak Street in Brookings. The event includes art, presentations, music and food.


Singing telegrams by Georgia Blank, who specializes in old hymns, are being offered to lift spirits at no charge. To schedule a singing telegram, call 541-469-5625.
