Paul Francis Litty

Paul Francis Litty passed away July 7, 2010, in Kiev, Ukraine.  

He was born Jan. 16, 1929, in Burbank, Calif.  

He served in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Berlin, Germany.  

After he finished his service he attended California Mortuary College where he studied to be an embalmer and funeral service professional. 

He worked in Willows, Calif., and San Francisco at Hallsteads Funeral Home before moving his family to Curry County in 1971 where he purchased Brookings and Gold Beach funeral homes. He owned and operated both funeral homes until 2002. 

He spent his retirement years in Kiev.  

Survivors include his children Paul Litty II of Kiev, Jon Litty of Surprise, Ariz., Gwen Litty of Gresham; brother George Litty of Willows; sister Lois Eidam of Sacramento, Calif. Also surviving are nine grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his son Mark Litty. 

A Catholic mass was held July 20 in Brookings.

Interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
