A moderate earthquake centered offshore shook Cape Mendicino and surrounding Humboldt County over the lunch hour Thursday. The quake, initially measured at 6.0, took place about 12:20 p.m. local time. No tsunami warning was issued. No reports of any damage or trouble were made to Curry County police agencies as of 1 p.m. Official information about the quake is available from the U.S. Geologic Service Web site, where you can also report if you felt the earthquake. |
