Donald E. Mozingo |
Donald E. Mozingo passed away at a local care facility in Brookings on Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. He was 69. Don was born March 19, 1940, in Veneta, Oregon, to Earl and Esther (Glasgow) Mozingo. He lived in various places, including Canada, before moving back to the United States. Don met Lou Bond; the two would fall in love and become lifelong partners. They lived in Arizona, Texas, and California before settling in Oregon 19 years ago. Don owned and operated Don’s RV Repair, first down near Harbor and then after he moved to the current location on Highway 101 eight years ago. Don liked to travel. Whether it was a weekend drive or a longer getaway, he and Lou loved to see new places. He also liked country music and dancing in his earlier days. Survivors include his companion of 29 years, Lou Bond of Brookings; daughter Donna Prest of Canada; sons Donnie Ray of Canada and Donnie Robert of California; stepchildren Raeanna of Oregon, Russel of California, David and Jessie of Oregon; 16 grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his brothers Doug and Duane and his sister Darlene MacDonald. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Redwood Memorial Chapel.
