Little League All-Star Fundraiser Car Wash

Saturday

The Brookings-Harbor Little League all-stars are having a car wash at the Oak Street Medical Center on Saturday, July 11.

The players and coaches will be washing cars from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The car wash is a donation only event which will  help raise funds for the team’s July 25 trip to Portland for the state tournament.


Brookings-Harbor Soccer League UK Camp

July 20 to 24

The Brookings-Harbor Soccer League is sponsoring the UK International Soccer Camp the week of July 20 to 24 at Azalea Park from 9 a.m. to noon.

The half-day camp is available for children ages 4 to 18. A full-day camp is also available for children ages 8 and above.

Camp Coordinator Nikki Darger said the camp is an annual event and has been successful for several years.

There are still places available and interested parties can sign up online at www.uksocca.com.

Bandon Golf For Health Classic July 25

The second-annual Bandon Golf For Health Classic is slated for July 25 at Bandon Crossings golf course, located at 87530 Dew Valley Lane.

The event is a four-player scramble and will also have a $25,000 Hole-In-One event on #14 and one golfer will have a shot at $1 million dollars.

Registration begins the day of the event at 8:30 a.m. The driving range will be open at that time. A putting contest and a continental breakfast will start shortly after registration.

The shotgun-start scramble begins at 11:30 a.m. The tournament will be followed by an awards barbecue. After the barbecue, one golfer will take a shot at the $1 million dollars, which will be paid at $25,000 per year in a 40-year annuity.

A post-tournament event is planned, and Tournament Chair John Ohanesian is asking participants to bring their best golf  jokes.

The individual entry free is $100 and includes breakfast, green fees, cart and the barbecue. A preferred team entry of $500 include entry for four players plus four tickets to the Sponsors’ Thank You Party.

Proceeds of the event benefit the Southern Coos Health Foundation.
